Austin, CO Community Information

Austin CO Real Estate actually lies within the town of Orchard City. Austin has a unique story behind its origins. The area once relied upon the many orchards to provide for the people. They grew apricots, peaches, apples, and cherries. It was at the beginning of the 20th century that times became tough for residents of Austin Properties. They were contracting diseases from their drinking water. Because they were a smaller community, they didn't have the money needed to build a pipeline that could deliver clean water to the area. They joined together with two other nearby villages with the same trouble and became Orchard City. Together they had the funding needed, but each community still refers to themselves by their original names.
